TUIO Two Factor Authentication Overview
On TUIO, Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is automatically enabled when you log in and accept your invite to our software.
Background (the need for extra security)
Since the internet was invented, passwords have been your primary method of security - a kind of virtual 'bubble wrap' keeping your important data (like invoice history) safe. However, with a rapidly changing digital landscape, passwords alone are no longer enough to protect you online. Cybercriminals are continuously searching for weaknesses with online accounts, and passwords alone are no longer sufficient to prevent cybercriminals from executing data breaches, malware, phishing and other forms of online attacks.
Did you know?
- 90% of passwords can be cracked in less than six hours
- Over two-thirds of people use the same password for everything
- 57% of people who have fallen for a phishing attack don't change their passwords
This may seem overwhelming, but there is no cause for concern! TUIO is here to make data security easy. We've implemented 2FA to keep your information secure.
What is two-factor authentication?
It is a two-step verification process for logging into your online accounts that goes beyond just a single password. In order to access your account, you are required to complete two steps:
- Step 1: Something you know - your username and password.
- Step 2: Something you have - your verification code, which is sent to your email, and which you must retrieve and enter to complete the login process.
By requiring these two elements, your account will be protected. If someone obtains your password, 2FA provides an additional layer of security, as the attacker needs access to your email to retrieve the verification code.
